“Immortality can be experienced only through renunciation and sacrifice. Renunciation does not mean that we have to run away from our responsibilities, our family, our home. It means giving up the transient and impermanent …. we have to work towards spiritual exercises and discipline. , cultivation of detachment, especially from expectation, and development of confidence in one’s self. Without these three , life is an incomplete journey. Renounce the false ego and make spiritual progress. It is not the value of things given, what counts, is the loftiness of the impulse behind the act. Not through rituals, not progeny or wealth, but only through sacrifice can immortality be achieved. Sacrifice means  something more than giving wealth, gold and material objects.

It actually is the act of giving up all evil qualities of hatred, jealousy, wrath, malice, anger which have become ingrained over many lifetimes, and should be discarded.
