“Grounding helps us to connect to our physical body in the moment. It invites us to involve ourself in focussing on the sensations in the body and our connection to Mother Earth.
Grounding helps us in reducing stress, anxiety, fear, anger, helplessness and feelings of disconnection.
With our feet firmly planted on the ground, using our breath as a focus, we have to visualise strong roots growing from the soles of our feet into Mother Earth . This visualisation helps us to create a sense of stability and safety. To be firmly rooted to the ground with the goal being to become more aware of the present moment and let go of all the past, including all the traumas, distractions and worries.
The five grounding methods which are useful for all healers.
1) Connect to your breath and use the slow breath to centre the self.
2)Connect with your senses and use them to connect with the present moment to see , hear , smell , taste and touch.
3)Use physical sensations to connect to the touch of the hands, the feet touching the ground. You sitting in the chair.
4) To picture yourself rooted to the ground, standing tall like a tree.
5) Engage in a physical activity like knitting, colouring, gardening or lighting the lamps this Diwali to feel more comfortable and grounded in the moment.
This Diwali ground your anxiety and invite in the auspicious grace and remain illuminated by the sparkling lights and the shower of blessings cascading down.
